Speed for urgent shipments

Air Freight

Air imports and exports, with solutions for different transport needs.

Overview

Air freight is the right choice when transit time is critical or the goods have high added value. AV Global Express coordinates air import and export shipments, assessing the best solution for each transport need.

From the very first quote we consider gross weight, dimensions and volumetric weight, so that the proposal reflects the reality of the shipment.

Frequently asked questions

What is volumetric weight?

It is a weight calculated from the cargo volume. Air freight commonly uses the IATA factor of 6,000 cm³/kg (1 m³ = 166.67 kg). Freight is charged on the greater of gross weight and volumetric weight.

Is the weight calculated in the form final?

No. The form provides an estimate. The final chargeable weight depends on the airline and the rule that applies to the shipment.

When is air freight worth it?

When transit time matters more than freight cost, or when the value of the goods makes time in transit more expensive than the freight difference.
